‘Just try not to knock anything over with those flailing limbs of yours,’ I whispered, and set off down the corridor again, only to hear Lenny say, in a very whiny voice, ‘Just try not to knock anything over with those flailing limbs of yours.’

I paused. ‘I sound nothing like that!’

‘I sound nothing like that!’ Lenny said in the same whiny voice.

‘Lennox! Stop messing about! We need to stay completely focused and alert during a mission, so we can react if something happens.’

And then something did happen.

We both felt it. The familiar electric crackle in the air. I saw Lenny’s eyes widen behind his underpant-balaclava.

‘Something like the SHIVER?’ he said with a gulp.

‘Yes, something just like that.’
